With the proliferation of Windows 10 Pro and the tightening of security applications, we see numerous issues loading the Navigator Rip and workflow on Windows 10 Pro platforms with the antivirus enabled.  Xitron is providing a list of items for preparing the platform and requirements to load our software successfully.

  1. Navigator rip and workflow require administrative access to load and operate correctly. The Navigator software must be installed and run under a Windows user in the local “administrators” group.
  2. The "User Account Control" settings must set to "Never Notify."
  3. Windows Firewall settings must be turned off during the software installation.
  4. All antivirus software must be disabled for the installation of the software.
    1. Once Navigator is installed the antivirus can be re-enabled if the directories, services, and port below can be excluded or whitelisted.
      • Programs
        1. C:\Navigator
        2. C:\ Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel
        3. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared/HASP
        4. C:\Users\”Username”\AppData\Roaming\Xitron (hidden folder-to browse to, enter %appdata% in the folder explorer window)
        5. C:\ProgramData\Xitron (hidden folder-to browse to, enter %programdata% in the folder explorer window)
      • Services
        1. Sentinel LDK License Manager
      • Port
        1. 1947- Port required for the LDK License Manager
  5. When using Navigator on a "stand-alone" computer (client and server software loaded onto the same computer), an "active" network connection (wired) must be established and maintained on the computer. An "active" network connection enables the networking protocols needed for the client software to communicate with the server software, even though they are both on the same computer. If an “active” network connection is not possible, a “Microsoft Loopback Adapter” must be installed.
  6. A " wired " network connection is the only supported option when using Navigator GPS over a network (client and server loaded onto different computers).  The Navigator GPS client to server communications over a “wireless” network connection is NOT supported.
  7. The Navigator Rip/GPS/Elite software should be loaded onto a “dedicated” computer.
  8. The licensed version of Navigator software includes a single 36-digit “product key” that is only able to be loaded once. If      Navigator has a workflow, the server is licensed with a USB dongle.
  9. If you are using a Xitron USB interface:
    1. a. “Fast Startup” must be disabled. https://help.xitron.com/a/solutions/articles/1000253425
    2. “Selective Suspend” must be disabled. https://help.xitron.com/a/solutions/articles/1000302370
