A RenderConfig definition from NCE, selected as the 'Configuration' in the Workflow Editor, Render Action tab will normally be applied to both stages of a duplex press.

However you may optionally create a second RenderConfig in NCE with the same base name as the selected configuration, but with ``_S2`` appended.

To apply different settings to Stage 1 and Stage 2 of a duplex press, follow the simple instructions below.

1. Click the duplicate button (circled in red, below) to make a copy of the front side configuration.

2.  leave the name as is, but add "_S2" to the end of that name.

3. You now have a duplicated, second stage configuration that you should edit for your purposes.

How do you make it work?

If the press is duplex and such an ``_S2`` RenderConfig exists, the original RenderConfig will be applied to the front stage, and the ``_S2`` Render Config will be applied to Stage 2, the rear.  All you need to do is to get the naming right.  Once you do that, the system knows what to look for and what to do.

Example use case for 2nd stage different settings

On a roll fed printer with the front and rear print stages far enough apart from each other that you experience paper stretch by the time the job gets to the 2nd stage, you can create a distortion in the paper path direction.  If you experience a 5% stretch you can put in a 5% shrink to account for it.

In the case below we are making a 1% adjustment on the back side only.
