ImageMagick and ImageTragick: What You Need to Know About RasterBlaster Pro
We’ve received a few questions recently about the ImageTragick vulnerability and whether RasterBlaster Pro is affected. Here’s what you need to know.
What is ImageTragick?
ImageTragick refers to a set of serious vulnerabilities discovered in ImageMagick in 2016. These issues allowed specially crafted image files (like SVG or MVG formats) to potentially execute arbitrary commands on the host machine; a major security concern for any system that processes untrusted image content.

Was RasterBlaster Pro ever vulnerable?
No. RasterBlaster Pro has never been vulnerable to ImageTragick.
While RasterBlaster Pro does use ImageMagick to generate thumbnails for 1-bit TIFF jobs, we’ve always used a secured and modern version of the ImageMagick library. Specifically:
Previous versions of RasterBlaster Pro used ImageMagick 7.0.2, released after ImageTragick was patched.
The image formats processed by Raster Blaster(1-bit TIFFs) are not capable of triggering the exploit mechanisms used in the original vulnerabilities.
We do not accept or process arbitrary image uploads that could be used as attack vectors.
What's new in the August 2025 release?
Our August 2025 update of RasterBlaster Pro includes an upgrade to ImageMagick 7.1.2. While we were already secure, this upgrade:
Brings in further security hardening and performance improvements.
Keeps us aligned with the latest fixes.
Summary
RasterBlaster Pro was never vulnerable to ImageTragick.
We’ve always used safe versions of ImageMagick, only on non-vulnerable input (1-bit TIFFs).
The upcoming August 2025 release updates ImageMagick to version 7.1.2 as part of our commitment to proactive security and reliability.
