DuraCore / DuraBolt release 3.2 includes the newly rewritten Ink Usage Calculator.  It's entirely revamped UI needs some explanation so that users of the previous version can cope!

We should have numbered this version 2.0 because it's quite different.

New UI for accessing the Usage Calculator.

  1. A tool shortcut button has been added that when clicked, expands to reveal available tools.
  2. Ink Use Calculator - the feature we are talking about in this article
  3. Print Marks Editor
  4. System Log Viewer

Ink Use Calculator Redesign and Options

Configuration Button

The Ink Use Calculator can be configured by clicking the settings button at the top right of the screen. When clicked, it will expand the settings options that are available.

Cost per Liter

To get accurate ink use cost, the price per liter of ink needs to be entered here.

Currency

There are several currency symbols that can be selected.

Table Settings

Maximum Entries allows you set the maximum number of results that will be shown in the results table. Leaving this unselected will list the contents of the entire database.

Columns

There are several columns that can be toggled on and off in the list depending on your needs.

Date Range

A date range can be configured by clicking the calendar icon.

Filter

You can filter the list by entering a complete or partial job or filename.

Filtering the list for specific jobs or time periods allows you to gather the exact data you want.

Sort the data and/or Export to CSV

The data can be sorted alphanumerically by clicking on any column heading.

You can download a CSV of your filtered list by clicking the export button on the control bar.

Or copy the data to your clipboard for pasting into an application of your choice with the other button:

Licensing

This feature requires additional licensing to work. If you want to check to see if you have this option available, open the Navigator Server, then Server Setup>Product Features. In the Features list, look for "Ink Reporting." If it is enabled, then the feature is available. If you have just purchased this option, ink use data will not begin logging until after the code has been applied and the Navigator Server restarted. Any job run previous to activating this feature will not retroactively show ink use data.
