This article explains how to get Harlequin OEM RIPs to connect to Navigator GPS.
Quick Reference: Connecting OEM RIP to Navigator GPS
1. Download Navigator Installer
- v9 Server & v14 RIP: Navigator GPS v9 + RIP v14
- v8 Server & v13 RIP: Navigator GPS v8 + RIP v13
2. Install Navigator GPS
- Run NavigatorInstaller.exe and accept the license agreement.
- Choose Workflow Only
- Install in the default location.
3. Complete Installation
- v8 & RIP v13: Wait for the Cloudflow installer to finish.
- v9 & RIP v14: Allow the process to complete.
4. Plug in USB Dongle
- Insert the RIP Manager USB dongle before launching the server.
5. Launch and Close Navigator Server
- Ignore any license errors.
6. Download and Run RIP Utilities
- Run RIP Utilities.exe, select Modify, and navigate to the OEM Harlequin RIP folder. Proceed as prompted.
7. Edit Configuration Files
- Use Notepad++ (in Administrator mode) to update paths in these files:
fullharlequinrip.txt
harlequinrip.txt
- Update paths to match your OEM Harlequin RIP.exe location.
8. Copy Required Files from the this Download
- Extract and copy the following DLL files into the main RIP folder:
omniDynamic414_vc12_rt.dll
omniORB414_vc12_rt.dll
omnithread34_vc12_rt.dll
9. Add the SOARNX Folder
- Extract the SOARNX folder to:
\rip folder\SW\Extensions\PS Devices
10. Add soarnxHqnExtraStart
- Place the
soarnxHqnExtraStart
file in:\rip folder\SW\SYS\ExtraStart
11. Launch Navigator Server
- Confirm the OEM RIP launches with the server.
- Close the Navigator Server and verify the RIP also closes.
12. Configure Default Page Setup
- Relaunch Navigator and edit the Default Page Setup in the RIP. Match settings to the provided screenshot.
Once complete, restart the Navigator Server and verify the RIP starts and stops alongside the server. Grant network permissions as prompted. Your RIP and server are now ready for production configuration.
