A “Bad Parameter” error typically means the rip output file does not align with the way the CTP device is configured. Several issues could be responsible:
  • The imposition template may need to be slightly smaller, as a rounding error during Raster generation can cause a mismatch.
  • The Raster may need to be rotated 90 degrees to match the orientation expected by the CTP.
  • The CTP may have feed direction margins enabled—usually 15mm on each side. If that’s the case, the imageable area in the feed direction must be reduced by 30mm to fit within the printable space.
  • You may be pointing to the wrong virtual magazine, which would cause a mismatch in expected page or plate dimensions.
Any of these factors can trigger a Bad Parameter error. You’ll need to review each of them systematically to determine the source of the problem.
