Issue

When outputting plates from RasterBlaster or Navigator to a Screen PT-R 8900, the CTP may complete exposure and then display the following error:


E062043 – Detected the image data trouble in IMB PCB


The error may occur after every plate even though the plate itself appears to expose correctly.


Other symptoms may include communication problems between the Xitron interface and the Screen CTP.


Cause

The issue can be caused by the Image Data CRC option being enabled on the Screen PT-R 8900.

In the reported case, Image Data CRC was set to ON on both PT-R 8900 systems. When this option was enabled, communication between the Xitron interface and the CTP did not operate correctly.


Firmware was initially suspected because similar behavior had previously been associated with older Screen firmware. The CTP firmware was upgraded to version 2.56; however, the error remained.


The problem was ultimately determined to be related to the Image Data CRC setting rather than the firmware version. This was confirmed because another PT-R 8900 operating with firmware version 2.40 also worked correctly after Image Data CRC was disabled.


Resolution

On the Screen PT-R 8900:

  1. Take the CTP offline.

  2. Locate the CTP configuration containing the Image Data CRC option.

  3. Check whether Image Data CRC is enabled.

  4. Set Image Data CRC to OFF.

  5. Return the CTP to an operational state.

  6. Send a test plate from RasterBlaster or Navigator.


With Image Data CRC disabled, communication between the Xitron interface and the PT-R 8900 should operate normally and the E062043 error should no longer occur.


Additional Notes

Updating the Screen firmware alone did not resolve the reported issue. Firmware version 2.56 was installed during troubleshooting and the problem continued until Image Data CRC was disabled.


If E062043 continues after disabling Image Data CRC, collect the following information for Xitron Support:

  • Screen PT-R model

  • CTP firmware version

  • Screen DTR plug-in version

  • Navigator/RasterBlaster software version

  • PB2Diag Level 3 logs

  • DbgOut logs

  • Description of when the error occurs during the plate output sequence
